Discover our history
As a century-old building, the Champlain Hotel was originally constructed as housing units. The conversion to a first hotel was established in 1963 and was known under the name ‘’Hotel Fleur de Lys’’. Completely renovated between 2007 and 2011, and most recently in 2016, the property offers common areas and 50 guest rooms that are furnished with a sleek and sober design.
The Couillard, Fils & Co Company has been successful in preserving the charm of the century-old building, all while offering modern amenities and up-to-date style and comfort.
The Ancestral House section of our property has added elements of historic charm. Here you will find two Superior category rooms as well as the Loft; these rooms are only accessible by stairs. Between the trendy tourists and the old-time horse-drawn carriage rides along Sainte-Anne Street, our property is a reflection of the spirit of our Old-Quebec neighbourhood.
